Moacyr Jaime Scliar was born on the 23rd March 1937; he died on the 27th February 2011. He was a Brazilian writer and a physician. Most of the works he did concentrated o the issues of Jewish Identity in the Diaspora. He is best known outside the country for his work called Max and the Cats of the year 1981.
