novelist, short story writer and a literary critic in the country.

Enrique Anderson-Imbert was born in Córdoba, Argentina.
He finished from the University of Buenos Aires. From the year 1940 to the year
1947, Enrique Anderson-Imbert was a
teacher at the University of Tucuman. In the year 1947, Anderson-Imbert joined
the faculty of the University of Michigan. He was given the award of the Guggenheim
Fellowship in the year 1954. Anderson-Imbert became the first Victor S. Thomas Professor of
Hispanic Literature at theHarvard University
in the year 1965. Anderson-Imbert
stayed at Harvard University until he retired in the year 1980. Anderson-Imbert
was elected to be a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in the
year 1967.
He is best known for his brief microcuentos, it was
there that he combined the fantasy and magical realism.
Enrique Anderson-Imbert died on the 6th December 2000 in
Buenos Aires region of the country, Argentina.
