Troilo was a player of the musical instrument called bandoneon. He is also a composer, an arranger and a bandleader in the country. His orquestatipica was among the most prominent with many social dancers at the golden age of the tango music of the country, from the year 1940 to the year 1955, though he changed to a concert by the later part of the 1950s.
His orchestra is popular for the music instrumentals and also recorded with several vocalists like Francisco Fiorentino, Alberto Marino, Floreal Ruiz, Roberto Goyeneche, Raul Beron, and EdmundoRivero. The popular and renowned bandoneonist called Astor Piazzolla played and co-arranged for his orquestatipica at the period of 1929 to 1944.
