Djamel Menad

Djamel Menad was born on the 22^nd July 1960 in El Bayadh. He is a retired football player he played the role of a striker for the Algerian national team. He is currently a manager.

Club Career

Djamel Menad began his football career with CR Belouizdad bfore he moved to JS Kabylie. In the year 1987, he signed a deal with the French club, Nimes Olympique and he competed in three seasons with the club as he played almost 100 games for the club. In the 19989/90 season, he scored his career-best in Europe with the total of 12 goals in 27 matches for his club, though his club could not gain promotion after they finished 3^rd in position.

Djamel Menad had another three seasons in Portugal, two seasons with Famalicao and a season with C.F. Os Belenenses, always in top division. When he was 33 year, he went back to his country and retired after four years after playing with his former club, Kabylie and USM Alger.

Djamel Menad started coaching in the year 2005 as he managed his last team as a player. He was fired from his post on the 14^th May 2011 at JSM Bejaia.

International Career

Djamel Menad played the first of his 81 matches for the Algerian national team in the year 1982.

He was among the Algerian national team that played in the 1986 FIFA World Cup and he played in the group stage matches that were played against Brazil and Spain. In the year 1990 he assisted his country to win the African Cup of Nations and he was the top scorer of the competition with the total of 4 goals to his name.

He came 3^rd for the 1986 African Footballer of the Year Award.
