Merouane Abdouni was born on the 27th March 1981 in Bordj El
Kiffan Algier. He is a footballer that is currently playing the role of a
goalkeeper for the club, USM Blida in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2.

Biography
Abdouni started his
football career at the USM EL Harrach and he played his first game for the club
in the 1999/2000 season in the second division football of the country,
Algeria. In that same season, he assisted his club to win promotion to the top
flight football of the country, even though they were relegated again after a
year, he played for the club for one more season before he went on to sign a
deal with USM Alger in the summer of the year 2002.
With the new club,
USM Alger, he played a crucial role in the 2003 African Champions League run
for the team, as the team was eliminated in the semi-final stage of the
tournament to the Enyimba FC of Nigeria that finally became the champions that
year. He also assisted his club in the winning of the Algerian League two times
in the year 2003 and in the year 2005 and also the Algerian Cup twice, in the
year 2003 and in the year 2004. He was voted to be the top goalkeeper in the
2004/05 season by sport daily newspaper of the country, El Heddaf and was also
chosen in the DZFoot.com team of the season. He got the four call ups to play
for the national team of the country at the time he was playing for the club,
USM Alger.
In the summer of the
year 2005, Abdouni joined the crosstown rival club, MC Alger and he became the
target of chants by the USM Alger fans at the time of the Capital derby, which
they also called El Classico. He helped the club in winning the Algerian Cup
back to back in the year 2006 and in the year 2007, both times; his club
defeated his former club, USM Alger in the final. On the 17th May,
2007, in a CAF Confederation Cup match that was played against Kwara United of
Nigeria, he got a red card from the referee of the match and then he assaulted
the referee and the match officials also. After that he got a three-year ban
for the CAF, a decision that was held up by FIFA, not permitting him to play in
any football competition, both in his country and outside the country. The ban
was later reduced to two years.
Even though Abdouni could
not play for his club in any game, he signed a deal with the former club, USM
Alger at the starting part of the 20078 season.
In April of the year
2012, he joined Asane foball on a trial. And he was set to sign a permanent
deal with the Norwegian 2nd division football club.
Abdouni played the
total of four matches for the national team of the country at the time he was
playing for USM Alger.
