Latin
American-originated seasonal Christmas music known as Parang occasionally
features singer moving all over the homes of regions playing staple
instruments, such as cuarto (a four cord guitar), the maracas (locally called
chac-chacs), and the guitar. Chutney soca and chut-kai-pamng (chutney, Parang
and calypso, combined with Venezuela-originated rhythms) have also attained
fame over the periods.
