Since in the year 1986, saw the rise of David Rudder, brass ensembles have begun to lead the Carnival contests. Brass ensembles has long been playing a role in Trinidad cultural tradition, but Rudder promoted the genre and assisted encourage the establishment of the Caribbean brass festival in the tear 1991. This festival has been stopped since its last showcase at the B2B Bunji and Brass occasion in the year 1997.
