Tambal
and violin are the new arrangement which is very common in Moldavian dance
music. The earlier 20th century, though, the violin was frequently
accompanied by the cobza. Brass groups are now originating in the central part
of the country. Among the very popular violinists from this area is known as
Ion Dragoi. There are also numerous artists among the Csango, cultural Hungarians
who live in the Siret valley. Moldavia is also known for brass ensembles
familiar to those in Serbia.

There
is a popular chant that is written about the Moldovan girl living in Bucharest
known as Hey Cherry Blossom. The song begins by introducing the primary
character, Cherry Blossom, the male choral ask Cherry Blossom many questions,
she then reply by illustrating life in Romanian and dreams of having blue eyes
instead of brown. The song got several criticisms for worsening Romanian
stereotypes illustrating women wearing head scarves and people farming geese,
though, Cherry Blossom do not answer those people in the cities.
