Dr. Mohammad Shafiq Hamdam was born in the year
1981 in Afghanistan. He is for the promotion of peace, justice and human right
in the country. He is a writer, an activist and a commentator in the social
media. He is also a political analyst. He is the founder and the chairman of the
Afghan Anti-Corruption Network (AACN). Shafiq has also served with the United Nation's
schemes, the United States Government as well as NATO.
Since the year 1997 he has been working in the private sector,
civil society organizations, free media,
the United Nations projects, United
State Government as well as NATO
in diverse grounds and situations together with good governance,
security,
social
as well as economic,
political
and international relations, public diplomacy,
encouraging democracy and human rights.
He momentarily worked as a journalist
through the Moby Media. Because of his
involvement to transparency, peace,

country, he is chosen for Noble Peace Prize
by
Combined Joint Interagency Task Force-Shafafiyat
(NATO

Early Life and
Education
Hamdam was born in
Alishing village in the Laghman region of Afghanistan in the year 1981. He is
of the Malikzai family of the Ghurids and Afghan empire from 1148 to1215. In
the year 1986 he registered in primary school at the time of the soviet
invasion in the country. He went to Lam-e-Shahid High School in Kabul and he
finished in the year 1999 at the time of the Taliban era from Shahid Muhammad
Arif High School from Jalalabad and in the same year he got an admission in
Nangarhar University in the Faculty of Political Science. Shortly after he was
expelled from the university by the leadership of the university, this was
because of the article he wrote on the destruction of Buddhas of Bamivan.
In the year 2002 he
got his Bachelor of Health Sciences from the Nangarhar Institute of Health
Science, in the year 2003, Shafiq was honored with Advance Diploma in
Administration and Economics from the Swiss College of Administration and Economy
and in the year 2010, he finished from George C Marshall Center, an European
center for security studies in Germany, it was there that he studied advance
security and international relations.
Shafiq spent all his
life in his country and as a child he has seen the invasion of the country by
the Soviet Union, he has experienced the civil war of the country and as a
teenage and a young man, he has seen the Taliban era and the United States
invasion of his country. He is good in several languages, including his native
language that is Dari and also English, Urdu, Pashtu, Hindi and Arabic
languages.
Career History
Currently, Shafiq
works as the chairman of the Afghan Anti-Corruption Network, the largest and
the leading network of the civil society organization that are fighting
corruption in the country and since the year 2001, he has served as a senior
media and Public Diplomacy advisor to the NATO Senior Civilian Representative
in Afghanistan, and there he has served as the Political and the Media Advisor
since July 2008. Shafiq is a member of the Board of Directors; Modern
Organization for Development of Education, Executive Board Chairman of
Anti-Corruption Watch Organization. Shafiq is the founder of the Youth for
Peace, Afghan Youth Against Corruption, Kabul Tribune, Anti-Corruption Watch
Organization and he is a co-founder of the Afghan Women Coalition Against
Corruption. Shafiq is a member of the Afghan Youth Leaders
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), he is a member of the Program Associate of
Hiroshima Peace Builders Center, he is a member of the United Nation Coalition
Against Corruption, he is a member of the Voice Against Corruption and a member
of the Afghan Civil Society for Advocacy. In the 2009 provincial and
presidential election of the country, he slightly worked for Moby Media, Tolo
TV as a presenter of the Political round-table. From the May 2007 to July 2008,
Shafiq served with the United States Department of Defense as the Media
Coordinator and he served as the Spokesman for the United States Forces in the
Eastern Afghanistan. From November 2004 to November 2008, he served as the
Culture Advisor and Linguist for the United States Forces in Afghanistan. And from January 2004 to November 2004, he
worked as the Main Awareness Trainer, Admin and Logistic Officer and the
Medical Assistant at the Demobilization Disarmament and Reintegration Project of
the UN in Kabul. Between the years 2003 and 2004, he also served as a senior
Radiographer and radiologist Technologist at a private clinic in Jalalabad city
of the country. Between the year 2001 and the year 2003, he was a freelance
interpreter and before that from January 1997 to November 2001, he served as a
health Educator with the Health Net International TPO and World Health
Organization in Jalalabad City in the eastern part of the country.

articles on the subject of Corruption, which is the affair of the country. His
articles are published in the English language, as well as Russian, German,
Dari and Pashtu. About the issues that are related to corruption in the
country, he has been showing up in a good number of National and International
