Early Life
Daud was born on the
January 23rd, 1967 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He is of the Sulaimankhail
tribe of Maidan Wardak region. He was just 5 when his father, General Ghulan
Sediq Miraki was selected as the Intelligence Chief of South and the
south-western Afghanistan, located in Kandahar. He moved back to Kabul with his
father, and there they stayed for some years. Running away from the Soviet
occupation in the year 1982, Daud and his family relocated and took refuge in
Peshawar in Pakistan. Subsequently, he relocated to Germany in the year 1983
and stayed there for just a year. in the year 1984, he together with the gfamily
relocated to Chicago in the United States.
Education
Daud studied up to
grade 6 in primary school that is in Kandahar. After he had finished his grade
6 in Kandahar, his family went back to Kabul and there he completed his grade 7
and grade 8. He finished his grade 9 at the Syed Jamaludin Afghan High School
in Peshawar. He received his high school diploma from the Senn High School in
May 1986 in Chicago.
Daud was given an
admission to study biology in the University of Illinois in Chicago. Meanwhile,
he changed his main Political science due to his intentions to contribute to
the good of the country. In the year 1992, he finished with a BA in Political
Science.
Daud got two Master’s
degrees; his 1st Master’s degree was a political science
specialization in the International Relations that he finished in the year
1993. His 2nd master’s degree was in the Middle Eastern Studies,
specialization in the conflict Resolution that he got in the year 1996. In the
year 2000, he finished his Ph.D in Public Policy Analysis.
Work Life
Daud taught
management and policy courses at the Chicago State University for more than
three years.
He began a
Non-for-profit organization, Afghan DU and Recovery Fund to create awareness
and funds to start some DU clean-up projects, transfer villagers from bombed
villages and give them clean water and some other basic amenities for
sustainability.
Academic Work
Daud has written a
number of reports and a book. And they
include;

Political View
Daud is known to be an
ultra-nationalist Afghan and majority of his election goals were based on
giving ethnic Pashtuns and the language of Pashto more rights. According to
Daud, the Pashtuns of the country consist of about 65% of the total population
of the country. As such, Pashto should be made the official and the first
language of the state while Persian should be the second language of the
country. He also is a good supporter of the removal of the Durand Line and
creation of bigger nation.
