Romania
is one of the European countries with a multicultural music environment which
consist active ethnic music scene. Romania also has flourishing scenes in the
fields of pop music, heavy metal, hip pop and rock and roll. During in the time
of the first period of the 21st century some Europop
groups/musicians like Morena (Bizu Cristina), Akcent Edward Maya, Yarabi, tom
Boxer, Inna, Morandi, and Alexandra Stan gained success oversea. The
traditional Romania folk music remains renowned, and some of the traditional
artists have come to national and even international popularity.

The
traditional music is the ancient type of Romanian musical production, described
by great strength; it’s describing source of the cultured musical production,
both religious and lay. Conservation of Romanian traditional music has been
assisted by huge and enduring spectator, and also many musicians who assisted
to spread and further develop the traditional beat. One of such person is
Gheorghe Zamfir, he is popular all over the world today, and aided promote a
traditional Romanian folk instrument like panpipes.
The
religious musical production, born under the influence of Byzantine music
regulated to the pronunciations of the indigenous traditional music, saw a
period of glory between the 15th and 17th centuries, when
alleged schools of liturgical music established within Romanian monasteries.
The western and Russian influences brought the inception of polyphony in
religious music in the 18th century, a genre established by a number
of Romanian composers during the 19th and 20th centuries.
