Many
other Africa countries have seen commotion and aggression during their forced
transition from a different area of folk cultures to a group of new nation
states. Nigeria has experienced more complication than most other African
countries in imitating a renowned cultural identity from the different tribes
of the countryside. From its beginnings in the streets of Lagos, famous music
in Nigeria has long been an important part of the field of African pop,
bringing in influences and instruments from many different ethnic groups, most
mainly include the Yoruba.
The
earliest methods of Nigerian famous music were the highlife and the palm-wine
music which expanse in the 1920s among Nigeria and nearby African countries
such as Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. In Nigeria, the palm-wine became the
fundamental basis of juju, a genre that controlled the famous music for many
periods. During this period few other methods such as apala, originated from
the traditional Yoruba music that also found a more limited spectator. In the
1960s, American, Cuban and other methods of imported music were enjoying a huge
following, and artists began to join these influences into juju. The result was
a abundance of modern methods in the last few years of the 20th
century which include waka music, Afrobeat and Yo-pop.
