Other renowned type of music found in different parts in Mexico mostly have their roots in others parts of the Caribbean and Latin American music, and they include rumba, bolero, mambo and cumbia. Rumba originated from the black Mexican slaves in Veracruz in Mexico City and Yucatan. The style starts in Cuba and later became popular in the black community of Mexico. In the beginning of the 20th century, bolero came to Yucatan and Danzon to Veracruz. Both of the styles became extremely renowned throughout the country and Mexican styles of both rhythms were built.

In the 40s the Cubans Perez Prado and Benny More migrated to Mexico where they brought with them the mambo, which later became very renowned especially in Mexico City and there after the mambo was built into Cha cha cha which was also extremely renowned.
