Cuban bolero emigrated to Mexico and other Latin American after its
introduction where it becomes part of their collections. Some of the bolero’s
prominent composers have come from other close countries, most especially the
creative Puerto Rican composer Rafael Hernandez another instance of the
Mexico’s Augustine Lara. Some of the Cuban composers of the bolero are
mentioned under the Trova. Some popular Mexican bolero composers include Maria
Grever, Gabriel Ruiz, Gonzalo Curiel Barba and Consuelo Velazquez. Other
composers like Armando Manzanero is widely seen as the premier Mexican romantic
composer of the postwar period and he is one of the most popular composers of
the Latin America who has composed over four hundred songs which fifty of it
have given him the international popularity. His great popular songs include
Voy a apagar la luz which means I’m Going to Turn Off the Lights, Contigo
Aprendi which means With you I Learnt, Adoro meaning adore, No se tu meaning I
don’t know if you……, and many others.
