varied range of influences is the heart of the Latin alternative, the music
made by the young players who have been raised not only from their parents’
music but also in rock, electronica and hip pop. This shows a sonic change from
the regionalism points to a modern global Latin identity.

name Latin alternative came in the late 1990s by American record company
executives in through of selling music which was literally all over the map.
This was marketed by an alternative slick which was produced in Latin pop that
controlled the commercial Spanish language radio such as Paulina Rubio and
Ricky Martin.
Musicians
who are involves in this genre include Nortec Colletive, Café Tacuba and
Maldita Vecindad y los Hijos del Quinto Partio who set out to challenge traditional
expectations of the Latin music.
