Portugal has been taking part at the Eurovision Song Competition since 1964, its best result being the 6th position attain by Lucia Moniz’s traditional inspired song known as O meu curacao nao tem cor in 1996, penned by Pedro Vaz Osorio. Since then Portugal never had a top 10 position.
