The asor was a musical instrument that is made up of ten
strings. The musical instrument is mentioned in the bible. There is a little
agreement on what kind of musical instrument this asor was or to what musical
instrument the asor had similarities with.

The name shows three times in the bible, and has not been
trace in any other place.
In the English version bible, the musical instrument is
translated as a musical instrument of 10 strings, having a marginal note omit
applied instrument. In the Septuangint, the name of the musical instrument
being derived from a root meaning ten, the Greek is ἐν δεκαχορδῷ or ψαλτήριον
δεκάχορδον, in the Vulgate in decachordo psalterio. Each time the name of the musical
instrument is mentioned, it follows the word nebel, and perhaps merely
indicates a version of the nebel, having 10 strings rather than 12 strings that
were assigned to it by Josephus.
