Theatre Music of Burkina Faso

The theatre of the Burkina Faso is mix with traditional Burkinabe performance with the colonial powers and post-colonial efforts to educate the rural people to produce a different national theatre. The traditional ritual ceremonies of the several ethnic orchestras in Burkina Faso have long involved dancing with masks, the western patter of theatre became common during colonial period, heavily powered by the French theatre. With independence came a new pattern of theatre inspired by the forum theatre aimed at educating and entertaining Burkina Faso rural people.
