The Cambodian art music is highly powered by the ancient form as well as Hindu forms, the religious dance, several of which shows that stories and ancient myths are rare. Some dances are accompanied by a pin peat groups, including a ching (cymbal), roneat (bamboo xylophone), pai au (flute), sralai (oboe), chapey (bass banjo), gong (which is the bronze gong), tro (the fiddle) and different types of drums. In each movement the dancers makes reference to a specific idea which include abstract concepts like today (is pointing a finger upwards). The 1950s saw a revival in classical dance which is led by Queen Sisowath Kossamak Nearyrath.
