Rafael Cardoso was born on the 4th June 1964; he is an
Brazilian writer and a an art historian. He has published many books and essays
on the history of art and design in the country and his works are more focused
on the era of the country between the year 1840 and 1930. He has published the
total of 3 wokrd of fiction with Entre as Mulheres of the year 2007 included.

Early Life and Education
Rafael Cardoso Denis was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro to a mixed
cultural background; the father was a physician born in France by German parents
and moved to Brazil at the time of the World War II. His mother from a popular
literary family in Minas Gerais.
At the age of 5, Rafael Cardoso’s parents moved to the United States and
it was in the city of Virginia that he was brought up. He attended his college
at the Johns Hopkins University in the city of Baltimore and then he graduated
Phi Beta Kappa in the year 1985. He moved back to Brazil sometimes after his
graduation and got his MA in art history from the Universidade
Federal do Rio de Janeiro and went oin the art history at the n to get his Ph.D
Courtauld Institute of Art in the city of London in England from the year 1991
to the year 1995.
Career
Rafael Cardoso’s first books of fiction and non-fiction came out in the
year 2000 and continually, he published both together since that year. His
first popular success was the history textbook that he designed called Uma Introdução à História do Design, which is
widely used in the universities of the country and is in its 3rd
edition.
Rafael Cardoso is well known as an art historian and for his design in
the country and he has written half a dozen books and about a hundred essays
and articles for the dailies and weeklies of the country. He is also an editor
and a translator. He worked as a professor in the Pontifícia
Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and in the Universidade do Estado do
Rio de Janeiro. His fame has increased in the country as a curator since the
year 2007, he has staged some exhibition in the arts of the country, both
contemporary and historically.
