Peter Alexander Ferdinand Maximilian Neumayer was born on the 30th
June 1926; he died on the 12th February 2011. He is commonly known
with the name Peter Alexander; he was an Austrian actor, singer and an
entertainer. He got his fame in the 1950s and in the 1960s through popular
movies and successful recordings. He showed himself to be a good host of TV
shows in the country.

Life and Career
At the time of the World War II, Peter Alexander was teenaged Luftwaffenhelfer
and member of the Reichsarbeitsdienst before he was conscripted into the Navy
of the country. He was captured by the British in the early part of the 1945 as
a POW.
At the end of the
World War II, Peter Alexander attended
the Vienna's Max Reinhardt Seminary for actors until 1948 and then he
started his profession in the movies of the country. He starred in many musical
comedies of the country like Liebe,
Tanz und 1000 Schlager and Peter
schießt den Vogel ab.
After his death in
the year 2011, Media Control Charts named Peter Alexander to be the biggest singles artist ever with the total of
459 songs that were charted on the German singles chart.
Peter Alexander was married to Hilde Haagen in 1952 and they had two
children together. He died on the 12th February 2011 at the age of
84 in the city of Vienna.
