Mino Carta is the pen name of Demetrio Carta born in the year 1933 in the
city of Genoa. He is an Italian born Brazilian journalist, publisher and a
writer. Mino Carta assisted in the creation of the Veja, Istoé and CartaCapital, the three of the four leading newsmagazines of the
country today.

Biography
Mino Carta came into the city of Sao Paulo with his Sardinian family
after the war in the year 1946, he was perhaps about 12 or 13 years of age at
that time.
He had a vestibular exam and got an admission into the University
of São Paulo's traditional Law School of Largo São Francisco in the year 1951.
The enrollment he did stated his date of birth to be 3rd September
1933. He attended the classes for the first years and stopped and never
graduated from the University.
In the year 1960, Mino Carta began his career in journalism by
assisting in the finding of the Editora Abril
automobile magazine Quatro Rodas.
He introduced a new journalism in the country in the year 1966 by his finding
of newspaper called Jornal da Tarde
that is based in the city of Sao Paulo.
And after 2 years of the finding of the newspaper, he assisted Victor Civita
of Abril in the finding of Veja, which
is the present leading newsmagazine of the country with the circulation of more
than a million copies per edition. He also assisted with the foundation of
Istoe in the year 1976 and founded the Carta Capital in the year 1994.
And of all his findings and assists in the finding of the newspapers
and magazines of the country the only one that failed to succeed is Jornal da
República.
In the year 2000, Mino Carta dropped his first novel called O Castelo de Âmbar. In the year 2003, Mino Carta brought out his second novel
called A Sombra do Silêncio.
