Liane Haid was born on the 16th August 1895; she died on the
28th November 2000. She was an Austrian actress often called the
first movie star of the country.
Liane Haid was born in the city of Vienna. She trained as a dancer and a
singer and she became the epitome of the Süßes Wiener Mädel and she was also a pin up of the country all through
the 1920s and the 1930s. her first movie called Mit Herz und Hand fürs
Vaterland was made at the time of the World War I. she worked as a UFA and as a
trained singer and made her transition to the sound period of the country and
she appeared in many comedy movies together with the German stars like Willi
Forst, Bruno Kastner, Georg Alexander, Theo Lingen, and Heinz Rühmann.

She rejected many
offers from the Hollywood and she left Germany in the year 1942 at the starting
days of the Nazi regime in the country to Switzerland. She lost all her good
directors and she stopped her career in the movie industry and got married.
Liane Haid died in the city of Bern in Switzerland in the year 2000 at
the age of 105.
