Eduard Clemens Franz Anna Freiherr von Wangenheim was born on the 1st August 1871 in the city of Vienna; he died on the 22nd July 1961. He was an Austrian film actor. He was a popular theatre actor who appeared in more than 150 German movies at the time of the silent and sound eras.

Eduard Clemens Franz Anna Freiherr von Wangenheim took acting lessons from her mother Luise von Wangenheim-Dub, who was an au actress of Hungarian origin and has played at the Burgtheatre in the city of Vienna. He moved to Gera in the year 1889 and performed in theatres together with his mother and sister called Clementine. He performed in the play called Ersten Held und Liebhaber in the year 1892, and that same yearhe took the lead role in the movie of the country called Egmont at the opening of the theatre in Annaberg on the 2nd April 1893. It was about that same time that he met and married the actress of the country called Minna Menger, they had a son called Gustav von Wangenheim who went to become an actor of the country too.
Eduard von Winterstein played at the Schiller Theatre since the year 1895 and from the year 1898; he performed at the Deutsches theatre in the city of Berlin under the Otto Brahm. He got married to Hedwig Pauly in the year 1899. He next worked at the Lessing theatre and played a role in Nachtasyl at the Kleinen Theater.
Eduard von Winterstein taught acting at the theatre that was founded by Max Reinhardt from the year 1905 to the year 1920 and from the year 1913, he started his acting in the movies of the country. After the World War II, Eduard von Winterstein worked with the Deutsches theatre and it was there that he played the role of Nathan for close to a hundred times.
Eduard von Winterstein was the winner of the Best Male Actor Award at the Film Festival in Karlovy Vary for the role he played in the movie of the country called Die Sonnenbrucks of the year 1951.
He decided to reside in the West Germany and after he had died, the West Germany dedicated a special page to him on which a text winter stone was printed and has the title Choice of the Better.
