Life and Career
Anton Walbrook was born in the city of Vienna with the name Adolf Wohlbrück. He was the son of Gisela Rosa (Cohn) and Adolf Ferdinand Bernhard Hermann Wohlbrück. He started his career as an actor in the Austrian theatre and cinema
He went to the Hollywood to reshoot dialogue for the multinational movie called The soldier and the Lady in the year 1937 and in the process of doing so, he changed his name from Adolf to Anton. Rather than moving back to Austria, Walbrook, who was a gay and categorized under the Nuremberg Laws as half-Jewish, he settled in England and kept on with his career as an actor.
