Anna Christina Maria "Christl" Mardayn was born on the 8th December 1896 in the city of Vienna; she died on the 24th July 1971. She was an Austrian actress and a singer.

Life
Christl was the daughter of banker Oskar Maria Mardayn and his wife Henriette. After her graduation from the school, she studied the use of piano, dance and song at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in the city of Vienna. She appeared on the stage of the country for the first time in the year 1920, taking the role of the diseased soubrette in the movie called The Dead Eyes. She was the singer of the Cherubino in 'Le nozze di Figaro', Lola in Cavalleria rusticana, and Sieglinde in Die Walküre. She appeared in the title role of Franz von Suppe’s operetta called Die schöne Galathee about 100 times.
The soubrette moved to the Raimund Theater in the year 1921 and in the year 1922, moved to the Charles Theatre and it was there that she sang in premiere show of operetta like Die Bajadere by Emmerich Kalman The Dragonfly Dance by Franz Lehár and The Lady in Ermine by Jean Gilbert.
Christl toured to the Art theatre in the city of Berlin, the Zurich theatre, the Corso Theatre and the state theatre in Hanover. She gradually transformed into a theatre actress in the 1930s, more in the speaking functions.
Christl married the actor called Hans Thimig in 1929, and she played many roles in the movies of the country with the husband. She made few appearances in the movies of the country in the 1950s. On the 18th May 1957, Christl was awarded the Golden Medal for Merit by the country and on the 21st March 1962, she was handed the title of Professor. She was a teacher in the conservatory of the city of Vienna, and she was there until she retired at Vienna Music Academy.
Christl died on the 24th July 1971 from heart failure.
