Federico Andahazi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His books have
been translated to several languages.
Federico Andahazi is the son of BelaAndahazi, who is
a Hungarian poet and psychoanalyst, and Juana Merlín.
Literary Awards
In the year 1996, he
won the first prize of the SegundaBienal de Arte Joven da la Ciudad de Buenos
Aires with his short story names Almasmisericordiosas. In that same year, Federico Andahazi received the first prize of
the Concurso Annual desde la Gente, withthe short storynamedEl sueño de los
justos
By the end of the
year 1996, Federico Andahazi was given
the award of the CAMED Prize for his short story called PorEncargo.
The second novel he
wrote called The Merciful
Women was released in the year 1998.

palabraspueden: Los escritores y la infancia with writers like José
Saramago, Carlos Fuentes, Ernesto Sábato, Juan Gelman, Mario Benedetti and
Mario Vargas Llosa.
Federico Andahazi was also part of the book Homage to Diego Maradona, 2001, SAF in the
company of Roberto Fontanarrosa andPacho O’Donnell.
