Life
Estela Canto was the descendant of an old Uruguayan family. Her ancestors
were more of crucial military men. Estela Canto’s brother called Patricio Canto
was also a writer and he wrote the assay called El caso Ortega y Gasset, which was about the Spanish
philosopher.
Estela Canto did many jobs during the late 1930s and the early part of
the 1940s. In the year 1944, at the house of Adolfo BioyCasares and
SilvinaOcampo, Estela Canto was introduced to Jorge Luis Borges. At that time
Jorge was al;ready a prominent man in the field of literature.
