Carlos Javier Benielli was born on the 26th March 1878,
Mendoza; he died on the 4th November 1934 in Buenos Aires. He was an
argentine writer and a poet, he is also an educator. He is the man that wrote
the lyrics for the marches and the hymns, which are dedicated to the famous
figure from the history of the country, and most of them are part of the common
culture heritage of the country.

Javier Benielli studied teaching in Mendoza. In the year 1897, Javier
Benielli became a professor at the Escuela Normal de Profesores ‘Mariano
Acosta’ in the Balvanera region of Buenos Aires. He was later posted to a
teaching position located in VenadoTuerto, Santa Fe region of the country. He
made friends while he was there with Cayetano Alberto Silva, a player of the
violin and a music composer. Because of that, he wrote the lyrics to the San
Lorenzo March that was composed by Silva in the year 1901, and that was the
most famous work he did. Javier Benielli
also wrote the lyrics for the marches commemorating the battles of Tuyuti and
Curupayti and the both were the music by Silva. Javier Benielli was the author
of the book called MenudenciasLingüísticas.
Javier Benielli dedicated 43 years of his life in the teaching
profession. He was the founding director of Escuela 22that
is located at Sánchez de Bustamante 260 in Buenos Aires. In the
year 1969, the school was named to honor him. Escuela 6392 that was founded in
the year 1953 in Bouchard region of San Lorenzo, on the National Route 11 also
has his name.
Javier Benielli died in Buenos Aires in the year 1934. In the year 2005,
his remains were moved to the cemetery at the Convent of San Lorenzi and that
is the place that the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers always performs the yearly
ceremony to honor him.
