known with the name, Akwá was born on the 30th May 1977. He is
an Angolan former football player. He played the role of a striker for the
country and for the clubs he played with.

At the start of his career, Akwá played for
three clubs in Portugal, Benfica, F.C. Alverca and Academica de Coimbra. Akwá
was in Portugal for four year before he left the country to Qatar, and it was
in Qatar that he had the best period of his football playing career. Akwá spent
7 years in Qatar playing for three different clubs in the Qatar Stars League.
He played for the following club; Al-Wakrah, Al-Gharrafa and Qatar SC.
While he was in Qatar, Akwá won the Arab
Championship league, Qatar Crown Prince Cup and he was the top goal scorer in
the year 1999 with the total of 11 goals to his name. When he left Al-Wakrah
for the 2nd time in the year 2006, he never played for any team
until the year 2007, when he made a move to Angolan club called Petro Atletico.
He played with the club for a season before hanging his boot from professional
football.
Akwá played his first match for the Angolan
national team in the year 1995, and that was in the match that was played
against Mozambique. Since his debut in the year 1995, Akwá has played the total
of 80 matches for the country and scored the total of 36 goals. He was among
the national team of the country that played in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and
that was the first World Cup for the country. He played in the three group
stage matches for the country, but never scored any goal for the country as
they were eliminated from the group. He retired from international football
after the tournament.
Political Career
Akwá is currently one of the members of the
Angolan Legislative assembly. His interests are in the major development of
sports in the country.
