Jesús Luis Álvarez de Eulate popular with the name Koldo was born on the
4th September 1970. He is an Andorran retired player who played the
role of defender for the club and for the country. He is the current coach of
Andorran national team.

Football Career
Jesús Luis Álvarez de Eulate was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava, Basque Country,
Spain. He played his entire career in the country. In the January transfer
winder of the year 1991, he signed for Atletico Madrid from the local CD
Aurrera de Vitoria, though he struggled to play even for the reserve team of
the club. Because of injury problem to the main first choice of the of the
team, Abel Resino, he was selected to be on the bench in the 1990/91 Copa del
Rey Finals that was played against Mallorca.
Koldo started his career in the lower league as he was the second and the
third choice of his team. In the year 1994, he joined FC Andorra that competed
in the Spanish football league system and he was with the club for about 14 or
15 years and retired at the age of 39. After he was neutralized, he started
playing for the Andorran national team; he played his first match for the
country on the 3rd June 1998 in a friendly match that was played
against Brazil. The match finished 3-0 in favor of Brazil.
Jesús Luis Álvarez de Eulate played his last match for the Andorran
national team on the 10th June 2009 in the match that finished 0-6
in favor of England for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. Arguably, he was one of
the best players in the game; he got a standing ovation from the opposing fans
for the effort he added in the game after he was removed from the game in the
injury time of the match.
In November 2003, at the celebration of the UEFA’s Jubilee, Jesús Luis
Álvarez de Eulate was chosen as the Golden player of the country by the
Andorran Football Federation as the most outstanding footballer of the past 50
years.
From the year 1998 to the year 2009, Jesús Luis Álvarez de Eulate played
the total of 78 matches for the country.
