Abdelhafid Tasfaout was born on the 11th February 1969 in Oran, Algeria. He is a retired Algerian football player. He played the role of a midfielder for the Algerian national team and was the captain of the Algerian national team for complete five years.

Career
Abdelhafid Tasfaout suffered a life-threatening head injury at the time of the 2002 African Cup of Nations in Mali after he clashed with Boubacar Diarra of Mali.
Abdelhafid Tasfaout started his football career with the club in his hometown, ASM Oran. He was with the club from the year 1986 to the year 1990.
Abdelhafid Tasfaout made a switch to MC Oran in the year 1990, and played for the club until the year 1995.
From the year 1995 to the year 1998, Abdelhafid Tasfaout played the total of 35 matches for the club, Auxerre and scored 5 goals for the club. He was sent on loan deal to Guingamp in the year 1997 and was with the club until the following year. He played the total of 25 matches in the season he had with the club and scored 6 goals for the club.
He signed a permanent deal with the club, Giungamp. He played the total of 164 matches for the club from the year 1997 to the year 2002 and scored the total of 23 matches for the club before he left the club to join Al-Rayyan.
Abdelhafid Tasfaout played the total of 13 matches for Al Rayyan and had 6 goals to his name.  
From the year 1990 to the year 2002, Abdelhafid Tasfaout played the total of 79 matches for the Algerian national team and scored the total of 35 goals for the nation.
