footballer from Algeria. Achiou is currently playing for his club MC Oran in
the Algerian Ligue professionnelle 1.

Club Career
Achiou began his
football career with the club ES Ben Aknoun before he went on to join the
junior ranks of USM Alger. He after that signed his first professional deal
with the club. He was a crucial member of the team at the time of the team’s
run in the African Champions League in the year 2003 and in the year 2004. His
club got to the final eight in the both years and finally made it to the
semi-final in the year 2003 when they lost to Enyimba FC of Nigeria, 3-2
aggregate.
He had several
opportunities to join European clubs but he refused on the financial terms with
the clubs. He had trials with the English Premier League sides, Portsmouth and
Fulham FC and also the French clubs, CS Sedan and FC Lorient. Finally, Achiou
signed a year contract FC Aarau, a Swiss club in the summer of the year 20056.
He scored his first league goal for the club in the match that was played
against FC St. Gallen. In the summer of the year 2007, he left the club and went
back to his former club, USM Alger.
International Career
Achiou was among the
national team of the country that finished 2nd in their group in the
first round of the 2004 African Cup of Nations behind the Cameroonians before
they were eliminated by Morocco in the quarter finals of the competition. He
scored a crucial goal against Egypt in one of the group stage matches that
helped his side in gaining the quarter final spot in the competition. He also
scored a goal in the match that was played against Zimbabwe in the group stage
of the competition. Achiou has played the total of 25 games for the national
team of his country and he has scored the total of three goals in all the 25
games he has played for the country.
