Early life and Career
Amri was born in Saint-Avold, France to Algerian Parents. The family
originates from Laâchache, Tlemcen Province, Algeria.
After Amri had left
the junior ranks of FC Metz, he went on to play shortly at the amateur club ASC
Lascasbas before he went on to join the reserve team of the club 1. FC
Saarbrucken. After a season with the reserve team of the club, he was promoted
to the senior team of the club; it was in the senior team of the club that he
scored 6 goals after playing the total of 25 games for the club. The next
summer, he made a 4-year deal with the then Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05. On
the 3rd march 2010, the club announced that it will not renew the
contract it has with the striker and also revealed that the striker will leave
the club in the summer. He joined 1. FC Kaiserclaustern. On the 15th
December 2011, the club loaned him out to FSV Frankfurt till the end of the
season. On the 26th February 2012, in the league match that was
played against Karlsruhe, Amri broke his leg after he had collided with the
goalkeeper of the opposing side and that forced him to rest for the remaining
part of the season.
