perform folk dance melodies such as Mitamba, Yalagala Kumchuzi on tuned goblet
drums, tuned cylindrical drums and the tin rattles.

ethnic group, was the 20th century’s most popular promoter of
Tanzanian folk music. He specialized in the ilimba, a big lamellohpone similar

and artist, who sing in Haya. Karoli’s music is illustrated as natural with
mellow choral and attractively rhythmic. Songs like Ndombolo Ya Solo or Maria
Salome were big hits in Tanzania and the countries surround it; she was voted
at the year 2005 and 2006 Tanzania Music Awards in the Best Traditional Album
group and for the Best Female Vocalist group.
