Quelbe Music of Virgin Island

Quelbe is a type of topical traditional chant, and it is the official music of the United States, Virgin Islands. Quelbe is popularly done by the scratch ensembles, Stanly & the Ten Sleepless Nights who were the most renowned across the Virgin Islands; however their traditional root lies in individuals, who sang the chants in informal arrangements, festivities and festivals. These chants usually contained political activities, such as boycott.
