OTAMATONE: Japanese musical instrument

The otamatone is a musical instrument fabricated in Japan by the Cube Works Company, together with Maywa Denki and Noymichi Tosa. The musical instrument is a musical note shaped singing toy that need two hands to be played; while one hand of the player holds the head and squeezes it, the other hand of the player controls the pitch of the sound by sliding his finger up and down the stem of the instrument. The tune manufactured by this musical instrument is usually compared to the sound of a theremin and synthesizer. The musical instrument has a dynamic pitch level and volume level is expressed via air that is channeled into the musical instrument.
