Mohammad Yusef Mashriqi was born on the Jul;y 7th,
1987. He is a footballer from Afghanistan that plays for the reserve team of
New York Red Bulls and he is also a member of the Afghanistan national team. In
the year 2013 he joined the Indian club called Bhawanipore FC.

Early Life
Yusef’s football
lineage began with the father, Tahir, who was aformer member of the national
team of the country. When the country was taken over by the communist during
the 10-years afghan war, football took a back seat to the father of Yusef and
his wife,Safora and their son Sabir and their daughter Sabira who were five and
three at that time. Tahir took his family and went to Pakistan. They got to the
United States Embassy and in the year 1985 they were secured in America. After
settling in the Flushing, New York city, Yusef was born two years later in the
year 1987.
Youth and College Career
Yusef went to
Flushing High School and from the age of 9 he started playing for the popular
Blau Weiss Gottschee club in New York City, and he won Four State Cup Championship.
Yusef was a part of the regional ODP from the year 2001 to the year 2005 and he
played for the Brooklyn Knights in the USL Super-Y league and this assisted
them in getting to the national semifinals. He was with them for four years for
the soccer at the Long Island University.
At the time of his
college years, Yusef played also for USL Premier Development League for
Bakersfield Brigade in the year 2006 and the year 2007 and he played with the
Brooklyn Knights in the year 2009.
Yusef was permitted
to train with the Under-17 team of respected team Paris Saint-Germain and with
the New York Red Bulls of the Major league football at the 2008 pre-season.
Yusef is presently playing as a part of the reserve team for the New York Red
Bulls that plays in the MLS Reserves Division as he was gradually playing for
the New York City amteur team called Brishna FC.
International Career
Yusef was a member of
the United States Under-14 National Team, though he he shifted his
international football role to his country, Afghanistan in the year 2010
Yusef played football
both in the qualifying games of his country for the 2014 FIFA World Cup against
Palestine in July, 2011. He scored his first international goal for his country
in the 8-1 win over Bhutan in the quarter final of the 2011 SAFF Championship
on the 7th December, 2011.
