Masuda Sultan was
born in Kandahar in the year 1978. She is an Afghan-American International
Human Right Advocate. She came into the United States at the age of 5 and was
raised in the Brooklyn and Flushing Queens. She went to the local public school
and got her master’s degree in the public administration from John F. Kennedy School of Government
at Harvard University.

She is the author
that wrote ‘My War at Home’, a memoir that reflected on her life as an
Afghan-American, and there she talks about the conflict that is arising from
her desire for independence in the Scheme of the traditional culture of the
country, for example, the arranged marriage with the man from Afghanistan. She
id the founder and the president of Young Afghan-World Alliancxe. The
organization was discovered upon Sultan’s come back from a trip that she had to
Afghanistan, and At the time of the travel, she had learned that 19 members of
her family were killed in the country in an October 2001 US air raid 60 miles
north of the Kandahar. She was featured and she made a good contribution in the
making of the documentary called, ‘From Ground Zero to Ground Zero’, that she
traveled to her country with the maker of the documentary, Jon Alpert. It is
during this travel that she discovered the killings of her family members in
October air raid.
