birth of a child is cause for particular musical festivity. The folk puppeteers

traditional chants such as Munojot and Naat performed at the circumcision
ceremony of a male child.

folk Tajik wedding music is played by sozanda, specialized artists, mainly
female, who are part of bands known as dasta.
