Hafizullah Khaled is
an Afghan Austrian humanitarian, peace activist. He is also a writer and the
founder of the Help Afghan School Children Organization (HASCO) that is based
in Vienna, Austria.

HASCO is not for the
purpose of making profit. It is a non-political organization that is dedicated
to the function of helping the Afghan new returnees and families that have been
displaced to send their children to school. Khaled has devoted his life to the
spreading of the message of peace and to the function of helping the vulnerable
children of the country. During the last 10 years, he has travelled many times
to various parts of the country so as to help the orphans and disadvantaged
children in the country and to promote non-violent education for the children
of the country.
Khaled has many
articles and poems in the two official languages of the country, Pashto and
Persian. His poems disseminate the information of peace among the people of the
country to defend the right of the vulnerable children of the society, some of
his poems like, ‘Children the flowers of our garden’, ‘curse on war’, ‘why this
continued war?’ and ‘my dream’ have been seen on many websites of the country
as well as some publications in the country.
Khaled gained his
Licentiate degree in Law and Political science from the University of Kabul and
he has served as Liaison Officer to the United Nations Good Offices Mission in
Afghanistan and Pakistan (UNGOMAP) as well as the Office of the United Nation
Secretary General in Afghanistan and Pakistan (OSGAP) with Mr. Benon Sevan’s
team in the later part of the 1980s.
In July 2007, Khaled
was selected to be the ‘Person of the Mouth’ by the University-Community
Partnership for Social Actions Research Network for his function in helping the
poor children of the country and promoting education in the country. Some other
personalities that were selected as the Person of the Mouth include the Nobel
Peace Prize Winner, Shirin Ebadi who is from Iran, and Mohammad Yunus Khan who
is from Bangladesh as well as Dr. Wangari Maathai.
On the eve of the
International Peace day, in 2009, Mr. Khaled published a collection of poem
that he named ‘The Message of Peace’, the poem as well as the articles in the
book keen to the promotion of peace and stability in the war-torn Afghanistan.
The money that was realized from the sale of the book was spent on the
promotion of education of the Afghanistan children and to help the orphans of
the country and the needy children of the country to go to school.
Khaled has written
his monograph about the military expenditure in the universe and there he elucidated
the need for minimizing the huge military expenses and spending these money for
the social and economic development of the country like the building of schools
for the children of the country, building of health facilities and making
drinking water available for the poor masses of the world.
In the recent years,
Khaled has affiliated with several various related organizations in the country
for the betterment of the people of the country. His aim is mainly on the right
of the children, welfare and the creation of peaceful country.
