Al-haj Gharzai
Kwakhuzhi the son of Late Ustad Mohammad Ibraheem Kwakhuzhi who is also a poet
writer, poet, journalist and a politician. They live in Kandahar. Gharzai was
born in Kabul on the 29th May 1961. He attended his middle and high
school in Babibia High School in Kabul, after that he was involved in the
commando and parachute courses and took a diploma degree in logistic faculty of
Army University. He is of the Baloch ethnic group of the country.

Career
All of Gharzai’s life
he has served in various official and private positions in the country and they
include;
1976 to 1980: he was
in charge of the Habibia High School’s Youth Wing and a member of the Youth
Movement of Afghanistan leadership delegation.
1980 to 1992: he
served in different departments of the ministry of defence and was promoted up
to the post of brigadier general and he served as the secretary of information
and culture minister.
1992 to 1994: he was
made in charge of the public relation in RDA, which is an NGO that served the
Reconstruction and Development of the country Afghanistan.
1994 to 1995: he was
made in charge of the of the United Nation Emergency Food Forward to the
capital city of the country in the time of crisis.
1995 to 1996: Gharzai
served and struggled for the establishment of peace and stability in the
country.
1996 to 1997: he was
made the deputy minister of the National Accountability, the Deputy Minister of
Intelligence and Advisor of the National Security Council in the Islamic
government of the country.
1997: because of the
accusation of heading a coup against Taliban government, he was arrested and
sentenced to five years imprisonment. He served in various jails of Kabul,
Kandahar, as well as Nangarhar.
7th
December 2001: he was released from the prison as the Taliban government
collapsed.
2002 to 2004: he took
part in the literacy and cultural events in the country.
2004: he was made in
charge of the Electoral Campaign of Mr. Hamid Karzai.
2004 till present: he
is the president of the Khwakhuzhi Literacy and Cultural Association (KLCA) and
Samsoor Afghanistan Construction Company.
2005: he contested
for the National Assembly of his country from Kabul but did not win the
election.
2007 to 2008: he was
made the deputy Mayor of Kabul region and resigned in the year 2008 because of
the problems that are linked with his health and became a member of the
Regional Peace Talks Jirga.
2009: he became the
head of Inspection and Management Department of Office of People’s support of
Hamid Karzai for the presidential election of the country.
2011: he became a
member of the Traditional Loya Jirga on the Afghan-American Strategic
Partnership and Peace Talks with Taliban.
2012: he became the
deputy President of Baloch General Council of the country.
