Classical Music of Sweden

Dominating classical artists include the following Allan Petterson, Wilhelm Perterson-Berger, Carl Michael Bellman, Hugo Alfven, Wilhelm Stenhammar, Lars-Erik Larsson, Franz Berwald, Allan Petersson, Johan Helmich Roman, Moses Pergament, and Hilding Rosenberg were among the Sweden’s great classical composers. The well-known opera singers during in the 19the century is soprano Jenny Lind and also in the 20^th century is known as tenor Jussi Bjorling, who had great achievement oversea as a tenor.  Also soprano Christina Nilsson, Birgit Nilsson and tenor Nicolai Gedda, Baritone Hakan Hagegard and the current mezz-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter also became recognized in the world of opera. Trombone virtuoso Christian Lindberg is seen by the swedes to be their leading international classical music celebrity. Evert Taube, Fred Akerstrom, Cornelis Vreeswijk and Povel Ramel were all renowned current troubadours, seen to be the classics in Swedish music. Sweden also has a renowned vocal music custom, which originating in the part of the cultural importance of the Swedish traditional chants.
