Ho-Hi-yan was established in the year 2005 with the support of the Executive
Yuan, to concentrate on issues of attraction to the local community. This came
on the heels of a current wave of local pop, as aboriginal musicians such as
Change Hui Mei (A-mei) (Puyuma people), Difang (Amis people), Pur-dur and
Samingad (Puyuma people) became international pop celebrities.
In
the year 19991 the creation of the Formosa Aboriginal Dance Troupe was another
main contributor to this movement, while the surprise mainstream achievement of
Return to Innocence; the theme chant to the 1996 Olympic Games, further
promoted indigenous music’s. Return to Innocence was composed by Enigma, a
renowned musical project and sample the voices of an elderly Amis couple, known
as Kuo Ying-nan and Kuo Hsiu-chu. When the couple seen out that their album had
become part of an international hit, they filed suit and in the year 1999, they
