The Tras-os-Montes musical tradition is closely linked to the music of Galicia Cantabria and Asturias. Folk bagpipes (gaita-de-fole transmontaana), a cappella choral and a distinctive musical scale with equal semitones have kept alive an important custom. (Miranda de I Douro), some musicians like Galamdum Galundaina sing with Mirandese language. Also the Pauliteiros traditional dance is renowned.
