The folk music tradition is somewhat diverse in different parts of
Montenegro. In folk music, different pattern can be seen in the Gulf of Kotor
region, Old Montenegro and Sanjak area.

The old Montenegro folk music is based within the traditional
instrument, the gusle. The music is primarily choral or instrumental-choral.
