Symphonic metal bands are also known in Netherlands, which include the Gathering, Within Temptation, After Forever, Stream of Passion, Epica and Delain. They became popular in the late 1990s and in the beginning of the new millennium. Though, ensembles like Kayak and Supersister who had a hit with Ruthless queen were already popular in the international in the 70s. Vandenberg was internationally popular in the 1980s.

Van Halen is also the lead guitarists and Edward van Halen is the drummer and Alex Van Halen came from Netherlands.
