n roll is largely celebrated along the white communities of Namibia. Die Vogel
is one of the Namibia’s greatest prominent rock n roll bands. The band was
successful in the German speaking Namibians during 70s. Stefan Ludik was the
first Namibian to participate in Big Brother Africa. Presently he is a successful
rock n roll and pop musician and actor. His music is more renowned within
Namibian and South African white communities. G3 is made up two young Namibians
who have gained success with their songs in 2005. Bedrock is one of the
country’s most durable rock bands. It was founded in 1994 in Oranjemund and the
band has produced four albums of unique material over the periods which include
Recovery released in 2001, So, Where’s the Party? Released in 2003, Simplicity
which was released in 2008 and the Desert rock which was released in 2010. They
sees their sound as Desert rock, an eclectic mix of patterns from 70s rock,
pop, folk and blues. Some aspect of their compositions is slight thread of
humor that reinforces most their song. Their song in debut album of rock n roll
was voted by the South African rock digest as one of the top 30 South African
songs of 2003. Their song was the first to gain radio play. In spite of the
series of personnel changes during the years, the band still continues to
flourish and playing regular concerts within and around Oranjemund.
