The Pimba music is the Portuguese edition of the euro Schlager or the Balkan Turbo-traditional. Its name originated from a 90s hit Pimba Pimba. Some of the biggest names include Ruth Marlene, Emanuel, Quim Barreiros and Agata. This genre combines folk sounds with accordion, Latin sounds and harmony or religious (primarily kitch) lyrics.
