The
Lenape tribes were the Native American orchestras that lived in what is now
known as New Jersey and the area is surrounding by the north, south, and the
west for thousands of years. The social ethnic songs were often known after
things such as the animals, and other tribes or groups, and even food.

The
songs were performed in a group and were usually not long. Though, the
performances and dancing would linger. An important amount of this part of the
Lenape tradition was lots as Dutch and later the British emigrants who moved
into the area and pushed the Lenape west. Eventually the United States
government relocated the majority of the Lenape in Oklahoma.
Nanticoke
Lenni-Lenape and the Ramapough Mountain Indians are both the Lenape descendants
that are known as tribes by the State of the New Jersey, but not the United States
government. The Powhatan Renape Nation are offspring of the Powhatan tribes of
the Virginia, a group of Powhatan traveled to the current day of the southern
New Jersey and are known as the people by the New Jersey, but not the federal
government.
